FOUNDER,
JOHN MARMO, RCDD
Optix America was founded by John Marmo, RCDD with focus on improving and manufacturing field-installable fiber optic connectors, including a patent for the re-spliceable splice-on connector, which remains the “backbone” of our business in the enterprise, broadband, telecom markets. We soon began working with several companies on an OEM level providing high reliability fiber optic connectors for various critical applications. Our alliances with several fortune 100 companies enabled us to expand our offering to become a recognized worldwide industry leader for high quality products and superior service.
John received his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Manhattan College and a masters degree in Telecommunications from Stevens Institute of Technology in NJ. Upon graduation John signed on as an officer in the US Navy where he spent time in the Nuclear Propulsion Program. He has over 25 years experience in fiber optic sales at large corporations including Panduit, Belden, and Commscope. He spent the last five years successfully establishing Fiberfox splicer sales in the United States.
